My husband’s job has taken us all over the country, so we’ve learned to stay flexible and embrace the “floating” lifestyle. But no matter where we land, my roots run deep—especially when it comes to my Southern upbringing and love for the grandiflora magnolia, Mississippi’s iconic bloom.
To me, the magnolia stands for quiet strength, resilience, and grace—qualities I bring to my work as a remote bookkeeper. Floating Magnolia Bookkeeping is a reflection of that balance: rooted in trust and service, yet adaptable enough to meet my clients wherever they are.
Floating Magnolia Bookkeeping Services LLC began as an idea in May 2022 and officially became a woman-owned Wyoming limited liability company in January 2023. It’s the realization of my vision to provide small businesses with the tailored, professional bookkeeping support they need to grow and succeed.
With no prior experience in starting a business, I turned to the Wyoming Women’s Business Center and successfully completed their “DreamBuilder, Women’s Business Creator.” program. Thanks to the guidance of my business coach and many others at WWBC, my dream became a reality on January 1, 2023.
I hold multiple certifications, including QuickBooks Online User Certification from Intuit, Bookkeeping Professional Certification, and QuickBooks ProAdvisor Online Certification. ProAdvisor’s are required to recertify annually, and I have recertified since October 2022. I also pursue ongoing professional development in accounting, bookkeeping, and software applications to stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.
I bring over five years of remote bookkeeping experience to my work. While I specialize in QuickBooks Online, I am also proficient in platforms like Zoho Books, Xero and Wave. My background includes over 26 years in the legal profession, where I worked with real estate trust accounts and served as a personal bookkeeper for senior partners. After those years, I homeschooled my son, now a chemical engineering college student, and later worked as an oil and gas abstractor before transitioning to my career as a full-charge bookkeeper.
My core values are at the heart of everything I do. I am dedicated to being detail-oriented, trustworthy, professional, and honest. I strive to build meaningful partnerships with my clients who appreciate the personalized services I provide.
I work from my fully-equipped home office, where dedication—and the watchful eye of my loyal office assistant and support specialist, Taffy—make remote bookkeeping seamless. No commute required! Remote work lets me do what I love while staying present for the things that matter most. With Taffy’s steadfast presence reminding me daily of the importance of loyalty, I bring that same spirit of care and commitment to every detail I handle, helping my clients feel confident and supported. I am the owner and sole bookkeeper of Floating Magnolia Bookkeeping Services, where I combine expertise with personal care to help small businesses stay financially organized and confident. Numbers may be my specialty, but I find balance through gardening, crocheting, and family time—activities that keep me grounded and inspired. Whether I’m untangling transactions or tending to my plants, I approach every task with the same dedication and meticulous attention to detail that defines my work.
Once known as ‘Taffy Lou Who,’ she now simply goes by ‘Taffy’ and serves as my loyal office assistant, guardian angel, and unwavering support specialist. Though she has only been with me for a year, she has fully embraced her role as the heart of my home office.
Her steady presence keeps the workspace calm and grounded, and she reminds me daily of the importance of loyalty and care—qualities I bring to every project.
