My husband’s job has taken us all over the country, so we’ve learned to stay flexible and embrace the “floating” lifestyle. But no matter where we land, my roots run deep—especially when it comes to my Southern upbringing and love for the grandiflora magnolia, Mississippi’s iconic bloom.
To me, the magnolia stands for quiet strength, resilience, and grace—qualities I bring to my work as a remote bookkeeper. Floating Magnolia Bookkeeping is a reflection of that balance: rooted in trust and service, yet adaptable enough to meet my clients wherever they are.
Floating Magnolia Bookkeeping Services LLC began as an idea in May 2022 and officially became a woman-owned limited liability company in January 2023. It’s the realization of my vision to provide personalized, professional bookkeeping support to small businesses — helping them get and stay financially organized, confident, and ready to grow.
I hold multiple certifications, including QuickBooks Online Certification (Intuit), QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification, and the Bookkeeping Professional Certification. I’ve maintained my ProAdvisor status since 2022 through annual recertification and ongoing professional development in bookkeeping, accounting, and software applications to stay current with industry trends and tools. I’m also actively studying for the national Certified Bookkeeper exam.
I bring over five years of remote bookkeeping experience to my work. While I specialize in QuickBooks Online, I’m also proficient in Zoho Books, Xero, and Wave. My earlier career includes over 26 years in the legal field, where I managed trust accounts and served as a personal bookkeeper to several senior partners. I’ve also worked as an oil and gas abstractor, traveling to courthouses across the East Coast. And for my son’s middle and high school years, I homeschooled him—he’s now a chemistry and chemical engineering major. Every step in that journey shaped the structure- and detail-driven mindset I bring to bookkeeping.
My services are grounded in core values: clarity, precision, transparency, and professionalism. I intentionally work with a limited number of clients at a time so I can offer one-on-one, truly personalized support. Whether you’re looking for full-service monthly bookkeeping or need help getting started with software setup and training, I tailor each engagement to fit your needs. I’ve created custom bookkeeping systems from the ground up, and I enjoy teaching clients how to manage their own books confidently—only stepping in when they want additional support. I believe every business owner deserves the tools and knowledge to make empowered financial decisions.
Although I work remotely from my home office, I also maintain access to a professional meeting space in downtown Poulsbo. Remote work gives me the flexibility to support clients both locally and nationwide while staying focused and present for the things that matter most—family!

With years of experience and a strong background in bookkeeping and business operations, I take pride in offering tailored solutions that meet each client’s unique goals and stage of growth.
While numbers are my specialty, I find balance in the quiet joys of gardening, crocheting, and spending time with my family (especially my loyal German Shepherd, Taffy). Whether I’m untangling a tricky set of transactions or tending to my plants, I bring the same patience, structure, and attention to detail that defines my work and my life.
Once known as “Taffy Lou Who” during her time with the owner of Banner’s Refuge in Laramie, Wyoming, she now simply goes by Taffy—and she’s far more than just a good dog. She’s my official Support Specialist, loyal guardian angel, and an essential part of my day.
Taffy has a gift for keeping things calm and grounded, even on the busiest days. Whether she’s snoozing by my desk or offering a nudge at just the right moment, she brings a steady, grounding presence to my workday. She’s my calm during deadlines, my reminder to take breaks, and a big part of my emotional support team.
She may not do the bookkeeping—but she definitely keeps the bookkeeper going!
